I am sure the children have been excited today about the arrival of  snow and  I hope they have had fun.

We hope to be able to open on time, if there are no more snowfalls. Children will need Wellington boots,warm coat, hat and gloves so they can play out if it is not too slippery.

Half-term is the 13th February for 1 week – pre-school closed. Have a good week!

We are Spring cleaning the pre-school and re-vamping our important  mark making area. Can you help?

• We need old birthday cards and xmas cards and envelopes
• Old tickets from trains, buses, concert, cinema etc
• Diaries and note books
• Small food packets and boxes for the home corner
• Plastic bottles e.g shampoo, water bottles
•  Empty clean yoghurt bottles
• Any surplus stationery items

Chinese New Year

Kung Hei Fat Choy!

On 23rd January 2012 we wave goodbye to the rabbit and welcome in the Year of the Dragon!

Children will be learning about Chinese New Year with fun activities like making red money packets, cookery, New Year cards, dragon dancing and painting and making a large dragon for display. During snack time children will try noodles, rice and prawn crackers.

We hope the children will have a fun week!

We have registered to feed the birds at pre-school and record our results. More information and activities on the RSPB website.

23^rd January : Chinese New Year – The Year of the dragon. Children will be making crafts and dragon  dancing.

30^th January Road Safety week. Activities and visit from the Road Safety Officer.

Our new term starts on January 4th at 8.45a.m. The next committee meeting is on the 11th January at 8.00p.m in Pre-school.

  Christmas at Little Acorns Pre-school

Wednesday 14^th December pm session Pre-school closed for the party.

 Invitation only : £6 to attend.

Thursday 15th December Pre-school closes at 12.15p.m All 3 and 4 year olds in the Nativity – Please take them to the St Marys Church Twyford for 1.15p.m. in costume (main parts). Leave your child in the church hall with the teachers and then take your seat in the church. After the performance you will need to collect your child at around 2.00p.m from the hall.

2.00p.m- 3.00pm Pre-school fundraiser – refreshments, raffle, craft activities and much more.

Please remember to return your pre-school raffle tickets, as the raffle will be drawn on the day.

Friday 16^th December Our last party by invitation only – £6 .  Pre-school closes at 12.15pm.

Please note all children can only attend one party this year, due to space.

Wishing you a merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.

Start of  Term  Wednesday January 4^th at usual time – 8.45a.m. We shall also be starting our sessions in the Starlings on the 4^th if anyone requires a full day session with lunch club.

On Friday we have a parent who gladly gives up her time to come in and teach the children some French words and songs.

Children have been learning how to say their name and greet one another. This week our story was about a dinosaur – Le Dinosaur.

The children love the visit from some friendly puppets that capture their imagination.
